For women undergoing cancer treatment, this special program is designed to teach beauty techniques to help overcome the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Trained, volunteer cosmetologists teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. Free cosmetic kits are provided to participants.

Tours of the Family Birthing Suites are offered to anyone wishing to see our beautiful unit. If you are thinking of having a baby, or if you're a mother-to-be or an excited grandparent, we would love to give you a tour. After tour, we'll answer any questions.

We are committed to providing breastfeeding moms with all the education and support they need to have a successful breastfeeding experience. This class focuses on the benefits of breastfeeding, pumping, and going back to work. Breastfeeding moms will also get advice to help solve problems related to breastfeeding. The class is taught by a certified lactation consultant. Nursing mothers are welcome to bring their infants.

This is great, one day class covering labor, comfort measures, relaxation and medical interventions. We also cover pain management options and vaginal and cesarean birth. A tour of the unit will take place at the end of the class. We will explain delivery and postpartum care in a one of the suites to give you a better understanding of the delivery process. This class, along with a breastfeeding class, will give you all you need for a great labor experience. Please attend class during your last trimester of pregnancy (months 7, 8 & 9). Wear something comfortable and lunch will be provided.

Intended for licensed and certified healthcare professionals, this course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction.

Participants will learn the basic techniques of adult, child and infant CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and first aid for choking. The class is appropriate for anyone interested in learning skills that could save the life of a loved one, friend, co-worker or citizen in the community.

Our SOS Diabetes Support Group provides individuals living with diabetes an opportunity to interact with others who have the disease.

Designed to enhance overall fitness for individuals age 55 and older, this class is a balanced fitness program that includes a combination of cardio-respiratory, muscle, endurance and flexibility training.

Just like the heart arteries, plaque can also build up and cause blockages in the leg arteries, leading to a condition called peripheral artery disease (PAD). Symptoms of PAD include pain, achiness, fatigue, burning or discomfort in the muscles of your feet, calves or thighs that usually appear during walking or exercise and go away after several minutes of rest. The condition can lead to serious circulation problems if left untreated. Attend this special program presented by Cardiologist Govind Ramadurai, M.D., to learn more about PAD and treatment options.

PAD is a narrowing of the peripheral arteries, most commonly the arteries of the pelvis and legs. This screening involves use of an ultrasound to check blood pressure in the legs compared to blood pressure in the arms and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. The screening is especially recommended for individuals who smoke, have high blood pressure, diabetes, an inactive lifestyle, or a personal or family history of heart attack or stroke, as well as those who experience cramping, pain or tiredness in the leg or hip muscles during activity that subsides with rest. Foot or toe wounds that won’t heal or that heal very slowly are also possible signs of PAD.

Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers. Fortunately, it can be found early through a simple skin examination. The American Cancer Society recommends a skin exam by a doctor or qualified health professional as part of a routine cancer checkup.

Designed for youths age 11 and older, this course can help babysitters: interview for a babysitting job, choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games, perform first aid, learn diapering and feeding techniques, handle bedtime issues, and learn tips for having a safe babysitting experience. Participants should bring a doll to class. Lunch is included.
